Sipping along with a good
book, who doesn’t enjoy it.
It is like escaping into a world where dragons exist and
you actually have a chance of meeting unicorns. The joy of reading cannot be
described , however one can describe what life is like when someone is simply
imbued to a book.

Early morning before saying “Good
Morning mom!” or “What a lovely morning!” the people who are addicted to books start
reading. When the mother finally gets annoyed and yells at the bookworm for not
keeping the book down, the book is closed. After the same old ritual of the
morning which includes brushing, taking a bath and getting dressed for school,
the book is read at the breakfast table. The book is also read in the school
bus. The book is not closed yet , it is read before and after the morning
assembly and also glanced at during the assembly. The book is read before the
teacher arrives and after the teacher leaves. At this point of time the reader
is so glued to the story that it becomes nearly impossible to keep the book
down. The reader lies about being ill and reads during sports class while the
other students do uninteresting things like running, jumping, jogging and exercising. there is one moment that
every reader despises it is called the ‘recess’ or ‘lunch break’. While the
entire school is echoing with noises such as laughter, giggling and chatter ,
the reader reads. It is very difficult to concentrate over a book, with all the
noise during the dreaded lunch break, to make matters worse the sound of the
noisy school bell snaps one right out of the story.
While the reader is mulling over the book the teacher
announces that there is to be a class test tomorrow.
Another frustrating moment in the life of a reader is when
told to keep the book down and study! Also, one of the most stereotyped moment
in every bookworm’s life is bumping into things while reading and locomoting.
The book is read during dinner, after dinner and before
dinner.
In one point of time when there are only one hundred and
seventy pages left, the head is filled with questions, worry, excitement and
doubt. ‘What happens to the treasure?’ ‘What is the end like?’ ‘What am I
supposed after finishing this book?’
The book is read till three o’clock in the night, when it
is finally over and when the excitement subsides, a hot lump starts forming in
the throat, sweat drips down the forehead, chills run down the spine as the
reader remembers the class test! The teacher’s voice keeps echoing in the head.
And for a moment a totally wild idea of skipping school comes to the head. But
alas! It doesn’t work…..
What
will happen next? Will the reader fail the class test? Well,
that my friend is an entirely different story for an entirely different time.
That is exactly how I spend my day!
